Welcome to Barnwell Primary School - Home of the Cool Colts!

Principal's Message

Principal Clamp's Vision
It is Barnwell Primary School’s vision to provide a safe instructional environment where all students will have their individual needs, differences and abilities recognized.  It is our desire to provide a supportive school community that challenges each child to excel academically.  We will work cooperatively with parents and the community to promote success in a safe, challenging environment in order to develop life-long learners.

Leisa Clamp, Principal
 Message from the Principal

Paul Wellstone once wrote, “I saw as a teacher how, if you take a spark of learning that the children have, and you IGNITE it, you can take a child from any background to a lifetime of creativity and accomplishment.”  This year it is my hope that we will INVEST...INSPIRE...and IGNITE our students at Barnwell Primary School.  Our goal is to teach students not simply lessons.  Our desire is to INVEST in the lives of our students, get to know their families, and understand their learning styles.  Relationships will serve as a foundation to INSPIRE them to achieve.  Ultimately, we want to IGNITE a life-long passion for learning and a desire for greatness.

We believe that we partner with parents to help lay the foundation for the future success of our students at the primary level.  In order to achieve greatness we as a community of parents, educators, and citizens must work together as a team.  We invite you to join us as we pursue excellence by visiting us in person.  We have a variety of ways you can be involved in the school and we will welcome you as part of our team.  Please take time to volunteer as your schedule allows, attend programs and performances, and communicate regularly with your child’s teachers.  By working together, we can ensure that BPS is an outstanding place for students to learn!

Mission Statement

Barnwell Primary School is a team made up of school staff, students, parents, and community members with one primary purpose - to provide a learning environment that embraces academics, the arts, and physical development to enrich the whole child.

Of all the things parents can do to reinforce learning, helping children learn to love reading may be the most important.  Get your children "hooked on books" and you'll help them succeed in school - and in life!
